BACKGROUND

• Matt Shea’s family has lived in Eastern Washington for four generations.
• His family ran the first stagecoach, as the story goes, from Walla Walla to Colville, Washington.
• Matt grew up in Spokane Valley attending both Pasadena and Ponderosa elementary schools.
• Prior to graduating “cum Laude” from Gonzaga Law School, Matt earned both his BA in History and Political Science from Gonzaga University while completing ROTC.
• Matt is currently practicing at Casey Law Offices P.S. in Spokane, WA. He is admitted to practice in WA, the Eastern Washington Federal District Court, and the 9th circuit court of appeals.

DISTINGUISHED MILITARY CAREER

• Matt Shea has served his country in the United States Army with two combat tours overseas, including eight months in Bosnia as a platoon leader, and eleven months in Baghdad, Iraq, as a company commander.
• Matt was awarded both a Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal, among many other awards and commendations.
• Matt began his Military service as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Gonzaga in 1996, and finished in the top 3 of his Officer Basic Course class.
• Currently Matt is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and current member of the American Legion.

OTHER LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

• Matt was named “Rookie Legislator of the Year” (2009)
• Currently Matt serves as Vice Chairman for the Eastern WA Army Advisory Board
• Matt Shea was the co-founder of the Washington Family Foundation, which later merged with the Family Policy Institute of WA.
• Matt is an allied attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), a national network of attorneys dedicated to preserving religious freedom.

Sam Paredes Director of Gun Owners of California

Sam Paredes has been working with Gun Owners of California for over 30 years and has been Executive Director for the past 10 years. GOC is a non-profit lobbying organization formed to protect and preserve our Second Amendment rights in California.  Sam is also Director of GOC Campaign Committee which is dedicated to defeating anti-gun politicians and replacing them with solid pro-gun leaders.

 Paredes has been interviewed by Fox News, ABC World News Tonight, and a significant number of radio stations and newspapers throughout California as an expert on gun laws in the Golden State.  He has testified in hundreds of legislative committee hearings, and has lobbied the CA Fish and Game Commission and the Department of Fish and Game, as well as the CA Department of Justice.  He is a regular contributor and columnist for California’s only conservative magazine devoted to covering state government, California Political Review.  He is an expert and has given workshops in Confrontational Politics to Gun Clubs, Tea Party Groups and conservative organizations in Missouri, Nevada and throughout California.

 Born in Los Angeles to immigrant parents in 1956, Sam is the second of three children.  He attended Pepperdine University on scholarship and graduated in 1978 with a degree in political science and studied at the Foundation for Economic Education in New York.

 A member of the Board of Directors of Gun Owners of America and Treasurer of Gun Owner Foundation, Sam is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys precision, tactical, and cowboy action shooting, hunting, fishing, golf, and travel with his family. He serves as a worship leader in his church, directs an a cappella singing group in the gold country foothills.

TOPIC: Gains made in preserving Gun Rights in California and the USA.

Constitution Party Candidate for California Governor. She represents a person who will stand up to the open border Federal government and Stand up for California’s Rights under the 10th Amendment.

Back in 2006, she was the campaign manager for third party gubernatorial candidate, Art Olivier.  During the campaign, they were invited to the late, great Aaron Russo's home to receive his endorsement and watch his extraordinary documentary "America: Freedom to Fascism". 

During the last presidential election cycle, Chelene was honored with an invitation to personally meet and endorse Congressman Ron Paul.

It was due to her past political achievements that the National Constitution Party leaders and members requested her to run for governor in California as an American Independent.  Chelene accepted the challenge in order to help restore our ailing state that has been hurt by special interest groups and big government.

Richard Ivan Mack, popularly known as Sheriff Mack is a former sheriff of Graham County, Arizona and Libertarian candidate for United States Senate election in Arizona, 2006. He is also a member of the Oath Keepers.

Mack has authored books relating to gun ownership and how the role of law enforcement should, in his opinion, play in America. He currently speaks at seminars "on constitutional issues relating to gun control, law enforcement, States' rights, the farce, otherwise known as the drug war, and the oath of office."^[1]

Mack received national attention in Mack v. United States (later restyled to Printz v. United States) in his tenure as a local sheriff for opposition to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act on the basis that it is unconstitutional due to congressional action to compel state officers to execute Federal law.

Richard Mack recently appeared in television interviews^{[2][3][4][5][6][7]} where he discussed his membership in Oath Keepers and the importance of the police and military in upholding their oaths to the U.S. Constitution.

Dr. Laurie Roth

Laurie is happily married and currently resides in Washington State where she spends her free time walking her two dogs and feeding deer, raccoons, birds, flying squirrels, and anything or anyone else who might show up at her door. She really is incorrigible!

Laurie Roth has a Ph.D. in counseling and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. If she can't reason with you, you had better duck before the roundhouse kick sends you flying! She is the proverbial "pastor's daughter" when it comes to her sense of adventure and her independent thinking. However, underneath her sharp wit, loony antics, and twisted views, you will find a woman with an uncommon gentle nature, a daily walk with God, and a unique talent for finding success against all odds.

She is a singer/songwriter with five CD albums to her credit, one track which landed her in Billboard's top 40 ranks and on the cover of Cash Box Magazine. She plays the piano, keyboard, and violin and has a voice that can penetrate your very soul.  She was the Host and Co-Producer for the popular PBS Show, CD Highway, which was broadcast on 155 stations across the country. She has hosted successful talk shows on radio stations from Boston to L.A. with no shortage of callers.  Laurie is also an accomplished Author, Cartoonist, and Artist. She has spent time in Japan and Australia and loves to travel. She is equally at home on horseback or motorcycle and enjoys scuba diving. She loves to watch NASCAR Nextel Cup Racing and has always liked vintage cars. Her favorite food is...well...just a hamburger, but with the works! TOPIC: The Health Care Problem and how to solve it.

Attorney Tommy Cryer

Won Against the IRS

Longtime Shreveport ,  Louisiana , attorney, Tommy K. Cryer, is no stranger to conflict and controversy.  The Hall of Fame attorney, an honor graduate of LSU Law School and member of the prestigious Order of the Coif, has a reputation for taking on issues no one else would and, on a number of occasions, he has made new inroads in the legal world.  But now he has thrown down the gauntlet in front of the mother of all 800 pound gorillas, the Internal Revenue Service, and the mama gorilla has picked it up.  The only thing certain now is that someone is going to be hurt.

The story began over a decade ago when a friend told Cryer that the income tax was a sham.  Cryer did not believe a word of it and thought his friend had gone off the deep end.  Learning that his friend had decided to stop filing tax returns, Cryer determined to research the matter, show his friend where he was wrong, and keep him from getting in trouble with the IRS.  That is how a two-year research project began, but it did not turn out the way Cryer expected.  Sporting a wry grin, Cryer said, "That just goes to show you that no good deed goes unpunished."

His research not only included the tax laws themselves, but went past the first income tax in 1861 to the drafting of the Constitution and included reading hundreds of cases, Congressional archives and tax laws from 1913 to present.  Cryer learned that although his friend had only a piece of the picture, he was right.  "The Tax Code and its regulations are carefully and," he adds, "ingeniously crafted to deceive," said Cryer.  He explains that the answer is not in what the laws say, but rather in what they do not say, and those provisions that are revealing are either hidden within tons of verbiage or behind double and triple negatives.  And, more importantly, he says, he knows why.

So Cryer decided he would also stop filing returns and would challenge the IRS if and when it came to call.  This resulted in "Failure to File Income Tax Return" charges being filed by the IRS.  The jury said NOT GUILTY on all counts! www.gcstation.net/liefreezone/

Joe Banister

Former IRS Special Agent

Joe is believed to be the first and only IRS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agent ever to conduct an off-duty investigation about claims that the federal income tax is fraudulently administered and enforced and then confront top IRS officials about the validity of those claims. After confronting said officials, including his own supervisors, he was encouraged to resign. He resigned from the IRS on February 25, 1999.

Joe is a graduate of San Jose State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He earned a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) certificate from the State of California in 1991, but left the practice of public accounting in 1993 to accept appointment to the Department of the Treasury, IRS Criminal Investigation Division, as a Special Agent (Criminal Investigator). In addition to his investigative duties as a sworn federal law enforcement officer, Mr. Banister was appointed the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (O.C.D.E.T.F.) Coordinator and Asset Forfeiture Coordinator for the IRS Central California District. He qualified as an expert marksman and assisted with firearms and defensive tactics training.

When Joe was faced with the reality that the Internal Revenue Service had no intention of addressing these serious issues, he knew he had a moral and ethical duty to inform the American people not only about his investigation, but about the failure of the Internal Revenue Service to provide any rebuttal to his research and the agency’s suspicious reluctance to discuss the matter at all. Speakers that come to the FES Rallies are eager to share information with you.

They are not paid to speak but are willing to come and spend time to help restore lost liberties. All are true American Patriots.

Sometimes due to court schedules or illness or airline problems a speaker will not appear.  If this happens we will usually provide another informative speaker at the event. 

When a substitution is made, the new speaker will be substituted on the CD or DVD orders as well.
